What this value means
Source: Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, H.10 Foreign Exchange Rates, taken directly from federalreserve.gov (public domain U.S. government work; attribute the Federal Reserve). The figures are noon buying rates in New York for cable transfers payable in the listed currencies, certified by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York for customs and used by the SEC. H.10 is published on Mondays at 16:15 ET for the previous business week (next business day if Monday is a Federal holiday), so the served fix is WEEK-LAGGED — typically last Friday — and must not be read as a same-day or tradable fix. UNIT CONVENTION: every rate here is USD per one unit of the named currency. H.10 itself prints AUD, EUR, NZD and GBP that way (asterisk rows) and prints every other currency as foreign units per 1 USD; those non-asterisk rows are inverted (1/published) so the unit label holds. Inverted in this fix: JPY, BRL, CAD, CHF, CNY, DKK, HKD, INR, KRW, LKR, MXN, MYR, NOK, SEK, SGD, THB, TWD, ZAR. As published (not inverted): EUR, GBP, AUD, NZD. Dollar indexes (broad / AFE / EME) and the Venezuelan bolivar are omitted — indexes are not currency pairs, and VEB is not served as a reference rate. Do not treat this as a live market quote.
