Statutory basis verified from primary texts: Art. 190 CT lists 1-ene; jueves, viernes y sábado de Semana Santa; 1-may; 6-ago; 15-sep; 2-nov; 25-dic. The 10-may asueto is NOT in Art. 190 — it comes from D.L. No. 339/2016 Art. 1 ('asueto nacional remunerado para el sector público y privado', derogating D.L. 205/1983 which covered only the public sector; primary PDF loaded from jurisprudencia.gob.sv). The 17-jun asueto comes from D.L. No. 208/2012 (public+private; confirmed on the official MTPS site, mtps.gob.sv/2019/06/14). Semana Santa 2026 computed from Easter Sunday 5-abr-2026: 2, 3, 4 April. NO observance-shift rules exist — asuetos fall on the calendar date (10-may-2026 is a Sunday and is not moved). Deliberately excluded: 3 and 5 August (asueto only within the city of San Salvador, Art. 190 final para.), the 'principal local festivity day' of each other municipality (patron-saint days, local by definition), and public-employee-only vacation blocks under the Ley de Asuetos, Vacaciones y Licencias de los Empleados Públicos. Work on an asueto is paid at ordinary salary +100% surcharge (Art. 192 CT). Watch for one-off asueto decrees (precedent: 18-jun-2024 rain-emergency asueto). List cross-checked against 2026 press calendars (El Diario de Hoy/elsalvador.com) with full agreement. Access quirks: csj.gob.sv returns 403 to non-browser fetches; the CT text used is the Asamblea's Índice Legislativo consolidation mirrored on lalibertadoeste.gob.sv (official .gob.sv, May-2025 upload). CT citation note: the CT's own closing formula reads DADO (Asamblea) 23-jun-1972 and Casa Presidencial sanction 30-jun-1972; the DADO date is used here (matching this dataset's convention for D.L. 296/1992 and D.L. 957/2011). NATLEX cites the 30-jun sanction date — both refer to the same D.L. No. 15, D.O. No. 142, Tomo 236, 31-jul-1972. 2027 EXTENSION (2026-07-30): the 11 national asuetos of Codigo de Trabajo art. 190 as amended, including Mother's Day (10 May, D.L. 339/2016) and Father's Day (17 June, D.L. 208/2012). El Salvador has NO transfer rule: art. 194 provides only that a worker whose asueto coincides with the weekly rest day receives basic salary, with no extra or moved day, so Holy Saturday, Labour Day and Christmas - all Saturdays in 2027 - stay on their dates. NOT INCLUDED because they are not national: 3 and 5 August, which art. 190's final paragraph makes asuetos in the city of San Salvador only (and whose post-2023 administrative footprint is unsettled after the districts reform), and the principal day of each locality's own festival elsewhere in the country. Note separately that public employees receive 1-6 August and 24 December-2 January as licencia charged to vacation under their own statute, which is the origin of the widespread belief in a national 'first week of August' holiday; it does not bind private employers. Ad-hoc bridge asuetos are decreed by the Asamblea from time to time and none exists for 2027.
